The river rose 35 feet at this location over night

Unfortunately, the Manayunk Dragon Boat programs have suffered a devastating blow. During the flash floods which took place September 23 -25 over 10 inches of rain fell in a 24 hour period causing the downstream waters to rise to the level of 14 feet while up stream in Manayunk the river crested over 40 feet.
The floods were too much for the docking mechanisms to withstand and they failed. This catastrophic failure caused the dock, along with six dragon boats to break free and become casualties to the river,s power.
